CD Reviews

A unique children's recording.

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Ms. Jenkins and the musicians who join her for this recording have done a fine job introducing labor music and history to children. Labor music and history seems to be lost on the modern age and it is important that children know of the battles waged to stop the economic exploitation of children and all workers. Jenkins softens this message in a way that is especially effective for kids. The meaning of union thus becomes transformed into something larger than labor unions. Union becomes the joining of all humans in the struggle for a better world! Ms. Jenkins is joined by some exceptional Chicago-based musicians, including songwriter and guitarist Bucky Halker. Halker's guitar and vocals can be heard throughout the recording."
