CD Reviews

Greatest from one of the Greatest!
Robert Lunte | Seattle, WA USA | 10/13/2000

"Ed Gerhard is among the TOP recognized finger-stylists for acoustic guitar. Not an emerging pro, but already there with the likes of Alex De Grassi and others of the same pedigree.Typically not a "speedy chops" guy, Gerhard is especially sensitive to dynamics and nuance of tone. He plays a very rich and resonant jumbo guitar, hand built for him by the master luthiers at BREEDLOVE guitars. His touch, talent and his instrument combine to produce one of the most beautifull solo guitar albums of 1999. I highly reccomend."
A TREASURY OF BEAUTIFUL MELODIES

"This is an alblum I will treasure forever! I normally avoid live alblums, the audio quality may be inferior to studio recordings, and there is the audience sound, applause etc,
This alblum is an exception, the sound quality is superior!
No audience noise !
Ed Gerhard is not simply an accomplished guitarist, he is an artist that will transport you to a simplier time. A time when you could savor each tone.
The Live Alblum is a portfolio of beautiful melodies. Some played with a deep soleful impressionist style and others with layers of tone quality you will love hearing over and over again. This alblum is my favorite acoustic guitar alblum !
I would reccomend starting any collection with this one. There is not a single track that is not outstanding!"
Nice!

"In this age of body-boinging, neck-bending, two-hand tapping, and "done-without-overdubs" guitarists, it's very inspiring and enjoyable to hear the guitar played the way Gerhard does. The "oohs and ahhs" Ed inspires aren't for something pulled from a bag of tricks but are for his technical and musical brilliance. Thanks Ed!"
