The truth is, that this recoding is one of the most perfect ever done, even compared to Rostropovich, Du Pre and other celebrated names. Also the DDD Supraphon 1984's sound is excellent and well balanced. Don't wait and grab this rare, valuable bargain - for its artistic and sound qualities as well. You wonu't need another (and if you don't prefer May/Neumann's lyrical apporach to the score, get the Brunns/Staatskapelle Dresden od Hanseller Classics too - another top-marks recording)."
