"Even with the three bonus tracks this CD clocks in at not much over 30 minutes. But it has all the twangs you've been looking for. And that one of the bonus tracks is the acoustically exquisite (and virtually twang-free) "Lost Island" makes it essential."
Dreadful!

"The product description refers to the "high quality sound" of this disc. They must be joking! 'Because They're Young', for one, has never sounded WORSE. I don't know what they've done to this classic track which has always sounded great in stereo on other CDs. The mix is barely recognisable here against the original single release. Same thing goes for 'Forty Miles Of Bad Road'...horrible. I could also have done without the fake stereo on 'Rebel Rouser', a track which was only ever recorded in mono. Avoid this CD and get the Bear Family comp instead. They are streets apart."
Don't Tweak The Twang

"Great original hits by rock's first instrumental star, Duane "Have Guitar Will Travel" Eddy. This CD could have been the definitive Jamie hits collection, but clocking in at just over 32 minutes with only 15 tracks, that didn't happen. The stereo remixes are hit and miss. "Because They're Young" pushes the strings way back in the mix and pushes the drums way up. Check out the much better stereo mix on Bear Family's out of print "That Classic Twang" if you can get your hands on it. I'm not sure what's been done to "Forty Miles Of Bad Road", but it's lost the punch of the original mono mix. I don't have a problem with including these new mixes, but if you've got as much space left over on a CD as this one does, include the rest of the Jamie hits along with the original mono mixes. 5 stars for the King of the Twangy Guitar, 3 for "nice try" with some of this stereo, = 4 stars. And for killer stereo mixes of "Peter Gunn", "Because They're Young", "Theme From Dixie", "Gidget Goes Hawaiian" as well as mono masterpieces like "Ramrod" and "Moovin' 'N' Groovin', try to scrounge up a copy of "That Classic Twang"."
