Synopsis

Album Description
"An interest in backcountry folk and blues is not prerequisite as Drakkansasauna is seedier, funnier, and ultimately fresher than O Brother and its modern-day siblings." --URBANPOLLUTION.COM Drakkar Sauna is Wallace Cochran and Jeffrey Stolz, two gentlemen from Lawrence, Kansas who list among their influences everything from The Laudermilks to Pete Seeger and Mandy Patinkin. Describing themselves as "two brains, one mind" and harmonizing like the Louvin Brothers, Drakkar Sauna makes old-time country and folk music for everyone, especially people who do not like old-time country and folk music. Rover is Drakkar Sauna's first album, being re-released after the first pressing sold out. The album is divided into two main parts: the "Very Much Alone Pentateuch" and the "Coalition Bear Force." Since Rover's first pressing in 2004, Drakkar Sauna has released a full-length album, Drakkansasauna, and a 7", Pirate Treasure, both through Marriage Records. Whether it is the quirky lyrics or the toe-tapping, good-time feeling that makes them so fun, Drakkar Sauna should remain a proper soundtrack for your particular slice of Americana, whether it's porch-rocking, camping, or s'mores in the microwave.
