CD Reviews

Simply the best album of all time...
Daniel C. Wilcock | 03/16/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"About 7 months ago I moved to Japan to teach English. On my first day in the country I saw the single 'Morrow', by this group on a giant screen in Tokyo's Shinjuku district. About an hour later I had picked up the album in HMV.
7 months later I have still not stopped listening to it. I am still amazed that an album can straddle so many genres, and be simultaneously dizzyingly frantic, beautiful, creative and accessible in the way that this CD manages. Simply there is nothing else quite like it. The whole thing sounds so perfect, like a summer's day. Hip-hop, punk, rock, dub, drum 'n' bass, ambient dance, and much more float in the mix together.Highlights are hard to pick, but tracks 2,4,5,7,11,14 and 17 are perhaps the standouts. Perhaps. Simply, buy this CD and you should never regret it - I certainly haven't. I just feel sorry that you will have to shell out such a large amount of money for it, but I assure you it is worth every cent."

"Dragon Ash know how to turn in a well rounded album. By blending pop melodies with crunching new-school metal and elements of hip-hop and electronica, this CD is never boring. In fact, I like this band much better than similar American bands (like Linkin Park for example). Dragon Ash are certainly a bright spot in Japan's musical landscape."
