THE FUTURE ONLY IS POSSIBLE IF THE PAST IS RESPECTED

(5 out of 5 stars)

"** The Man who kept Tacoma (and Seattle) on the map and pushing the boundaries of electronic music since the days of straight techno imports and the subsequent growth of the West Coast's own home grown sound. Donald has always encorporated the years of experience, knowledge and skills into his own unique genre of driving, energetic mixes and always will be the first to revert back to the roots of the music that is the lifeblood of his passion for the past, current and future releases. If you don't pay homage to any music's origins then you might as well kiss off your future.

CONCLUSION: DONALD'S FUTURE HAS NO BOUNDARIES......

* Note: To all of the critics who pick apart any one release for whatever nieve reason based on pure ignorance, quit buying the new vinyl off the racks and go buy a crate of used old school beats from the past 15 years, take 2 weeks off of your life and catch up on the future.....!!!"
A dissapointing and lackluster mix from one of my favorite d

"overall, this mix almost completely lacks the energy that this man was previously known for. being a glaude fanatic, i have all of his previous cd's which are in constant rotation. i could even overlook the poor audio quality of 'off the hook' because the mix was just so energetic, funky, and in-your-face slamming. i even have had the privelage of seeing him live and meeting him when he played here in IN last year.

however all of that seems to have fallen to the wayside in a mix that is extremely repetitive, uninspired...and just plain boring to listen to. two stars go towards a couple fun bouncy tracks (rock king roll, stalker, freaks on the floor), but nothing here even begins to reach the highs he did in his last mixes, where pretty much the whole mix was a high! gone are the chunky funky basslines, frenzied percussion, and playful track selection. perhaps the greatest thing about him was his intense presence, which is near non-existent here. this sounds very generic, like something i could go hear at a local club any night of the week. what happened to all your mad turntable skills, and your immaculate track selection donald???

so for any of you considering this, i highly reccomended his two 'mixed live' cd's and his debut 'off the hook' mix (although i'd rather download that one, since the audio quality is terrible, which is very strange considering his live mixes are crystal clear).

i was so excited for this i even had it pre-ordered, but i am sorely dissapointed.

sorry donald, i love ya man, but you blew it on this one!"
