"D.C. and Gold are two of the strongest forces in 80's reggae - as many yardies and reggae afficiandos will attest. Their numerous chats over Roots Radics riddims sounded an alarm of conciousness that was not heard again until the appearance of G. Silk. 'Raving Tonight' is a superb compilation of some of the most crucial cuts from this duo.
'Music Crave' will you get you hyped up to hear all the concious fruits on this album. 'Prophecy' is a hard-hitting track that reminds us that we, as people, cannot run from our destiny and have to face it wholeheartedly. On 'Jah Jah Hear My Plea' Gold and Don Carlos offer a sweet psalm of prayer - in a rastafari styleee. 'Black History' is another mindful cut that recalls the hardships endured by the African race during the terrible days of European slavery.
And the track 'White Squal' deserves special attention. Often covered by other bands, this song is famous and instantly familiar to any reggae fan.
"Raving Tonight" is a must have for any reggae rockers fan."
