"You would think with a name like THE DOMINATRIX SLEEPS TONIGHT it would be a raunchy and kinky song full of sexual innuendo that would befit a post-Vogue Madonna. On the contrary. This song is just a simple and catchy little dance number that uses a simple yet stylish groove along with some interesting counterplay between the synth bass and quick voice samples (along with some synth bell noises to round out the ensemble). So any of you prudes out there that love 80's techno but don't want Viscious Pink style lyrics don't have to worry here.

This CD single doesn't give you much in regards to true remixes. The BEAT ME mix is a minimalist track clocking in at 2 1/2 minutes that mostly gives you (you guessed it) the beat. The CHANT remix is not really a song at all. It's just sound bites from the song (great for DJs or electronica artists who want to put a little 'trix on their mixes) and lasts about a minute and a half. The final two tracks are just slight rearrangements of the same tune. No new beats or instruments or anything that would truly set the mixes apart. The only exception is the DOMINANT MIX clocks at almost five minutes while the 12" is well under four minutes.

This is a truly rare CD and the premium price shows it. However this isn't the only place to get this song. If all you want is the original 12" that rocked the clubs back in the 80's then you can check out 80's Dance Party Volume 2. It's a much more affordable alternative and the recording on that CD sounds a lot better than this single anyway. If you want the alternative mixes (which is what makes this CD truly rare) then it's up you regarding paying the premium price."
AN 80'S MUST HAVE!
