CD Reviews

Reborn??
J. Perez | Ft Worth, TX | 05/15/2008

"This is by farthest the biggest let down! The first two song are okay... to record DLG jams again was the biggest sin done. YAYA is good but no doubt she does not have the same talent as Huey!If you are a true salsera/o you are in for the biggest let down... hope this was helpful!"
The "Re-Birth" of DLG
M. Reyes | North Miami Beach, FL United States | 04/15/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"After years of being absent from the music world DLG is back with a new lead singer and the magic of original producer Sergio George. For those who were used to the voice of the former lead singer, Hewey Dunbar, let it be said that Yaya Vargas, the new lead, is amazing. Who is she? Yaya became known in P-Dittys reality show Making The Band. She is of Dominican descent and the niece of well known Dominican merengue singer Sergio Vargas. The new members of DLG are Yaya Vargas and Ness (formely of Los Adolesentes) along with former members, James De Barba and Fragancia have turned the former threesome into a powefull quarter of musical talent. The CD "Renacer" or Rebirth offers a 4 new tracks along with DLG hits re-recorded with a new flavor and interpreted by Yaya.

Check it out you won't be disappointed. My favorite tracks are: Toro Mata, Conmigo Quedate and Quiero Decirte Que Te Amo. While in my personal opinion this is only the begening of what is yet to come from the NEW DLG!"
Trying to put new into old

"I was so excited to hear the DLG was back again. They were one of my favorite groups in late 90's early 2000. I know it's different without Huey Dunbar, but still was very excited for them to come out. Their single "Quiero Decirte" is my favorite and just that song alone got me excited. But the cd is a little dissapointing. The last few songs are just old DLG songs with the new person singing to it. That I don't like. Why are you messing with songs that Huey Dunbar sang? They can't be hits again. If it wasn't for that, I would have liked the cd 100%."
