Surprising!

"Edita Gruberova sings the 'Queen of Night'. It's really amzing and surprising in speed. From long time ago, almost all the famous sopranos have been singing this role who has to sing 2 famous arias. Sumi jo, Wilma Lipp, Rita Streich, Luciana Serra, Erika Koth, Natalie Dessay and so on. But she is the fastest. The feeling speed seems to be half of others. Purchasing this CD for listening this aria is valuable. In addition to this, Lucia Popp sings Pamina very well. Really very well. There is one DVD showing the live stage of this opera with similar casting but the conductor was Sawalish. Comparing to this live stage, Popp sings more comfort. But the problem is Tamino (Jerusalem). When he sings Wagner, almost everybody thinks it's acceptable. But Tamino of this Mozart Opera does not require "shouting" or "yelling" only. I'm still wondering why Haitink considers Jerusalem as this role.Except this, the well balanced conducting and control of Haitink is very nice like Giulini conducting Don Giovanni. The other problem is the 'Top" prive of this '3'CD set. Please remind that the other labels produce 2CD set in TOP or Mid, even Bargain price."
