A couple of treasures, but too many 'demos'

"This limited edition collection isn't as rare as you'd think. You can still get it brand new directly from Rhino for a mere 40 bux. Personally, I bought this for the song "The Only One," a duet with Toni Basil that was featured in the late 80s horror movie "Slaughterhouse Rock." I did find a handful of studio tracks I didn't have--not sure if they were b-sides or just previously unreleased, but they are classic Devo, including Love is Stronger Than Dirt, Faster and Faster, and Modern Life. Some of the 'demos' and 'rough mixes' have great sound quality and could easily have been included on an album as-is. They are tracks I never heard before and worth having in an 80s folder on your ipod. But, the majority of this two disc set of over 40 songs is simply demos of songs that are on their catalog of albums. For me personally, I have no interest in demo versions if the song was actually completed. I would have rather this CD had been one disc instead of two and loaded ONLY with the unreleased tracks and demos. But hey, at least they were released."
