Though Chris Hillman was no doubt a key player in The Byrds and The Flying Burrito Brothers, Chris Hillman's solo career has never shown the genius for invention and soulfulness that his Parsons and McGuinn collaborations displayed. Still, the Desert Rose Band, featuring Herb Pedersen, Steve Duncan, and singer/guitarist John Jorgensen found a niche in the smooth country rock of the '80s.
