Viva La Del Rubios!

"The Del Rubio Triplets were real triplets, Millie, Elena and Eadie who started performing in the 1950s and are an item of cult interest. These groovy gals sung songs by Devo, Pet Shop Boys, James Brown and The Pointer Sisters as well as other suitably obtuse tracks like "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead" and "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Billing themselves as "Three Gals Three Guitars, One Birthday" the Del Rubio guitar (and percussion) based style has to be heard to be believed. All their versions of popular songs are individual and often quite peculiar as they knock out percussion on their guitars, shriek and warble and take enormous liberties with the material. Of course, it's great. On "Whip It" apart from the Devo title track you get a selection of material mostly from the fifties and sixties ("Mona Lisa", "Chain Of Fools", "Unforgettable", "Wake Up Little Susie") as well as oddities like "I Feel Good", "Satisfaction", and Carmen Miranda's "Chica Chica Boom Chick" all tossed through the Del Rubio audio salad-spinner. This is a wonderful legacy."

"When you put on the Del Rubio Triplets you better not operate heavy machinery because you cant help but smile and laugh. Their feel-good energy and sometimes wacky approach will definitely make your day shine."
