CD ReviewsDaughters' Masterpiece Byron Ridenour | Richmond, VA | 03/16/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "Daughters is one of the most unique and genre-pushing bands out today. From the short, crazy behemoth that was Canada Songs, to their latest self-titled, Daughters continue to push the boundaries. Their newest is without a doubt, their masterpiece. I don't know if I like it more than Hell Songs, one of my all time favorites.(I think I do). But I can tell that this is the album that they were made to make. What a wild and fantastic album this is. The songs are ,obviously, longer; and employing signs of "actual" songwriting. But the music itself is their most complex to date, even using handclaps and synths in the coda. It almost feels claustrophobic, there is so much going on in the songs. Also, they've added(for lack of a better word) a static-y sound to the top of the mixing. S/T is definitely Daughters' metal album. I wish this album had come sooner than it did; I just love it. Definitely go out and buy it today, and help support one of the best and hardest working bands in the music scene. Long Live Daughters 6/5 stars " The most interesting Daughter's album yet J.
