CD Reviews

Nobody has reviewed this yet? its a silent killer...

"i can't believe this album has been out for almost half a year now, and nobody has commented yet... hmm. don't be alarmed though - this album is throbbing with some amazing house/minimal/electro grooves.

so i guess i'll make this quick. cd1 is my favorite of the two discs - its more ethereal & housey, yet amazingly dirty and gritty. disc 2 is more minimal, definitely in club territory, and it retains the grittiness of the 1st album if not pronouncing it more.

anyways - this album is 100% emerson. if you enjoyed the first two GU installments from him then you will appreciate the progression darren has made as a DJ over the years.

now im just waiting for global underground 037 - bangkok here in about month..."
Interesting career move

"I know Darren Emerson for his crunching techno in mid-90's Underworld. Man, that was great stuff. I've always puzzled over him leaving the band--didn't seem to me to be a career-enhancing move. He's had mixed success as a DJ and producer; he's not even cracking the Top 100 DJ poll. You'd think he would.

This is a decent mix. I'm not really a house guy, and I'm not going to get in the weeds on his track programming, but I will say that it is thoughtful and vibrant and has some really spectacular mixes. Take a break from all those silly trance compilations and relax and listen to some Darren Emerson."
