Dan First is a Midwestern singer/songwriter in the vein of Keith Green, Larry Norman, Glenn Kaiser, Bob Dylan, and Brandon Heath. He began writing songs about a year after his conversion to Christianity as a vehicle to share his faith with others. Since that time he has performed in churches, coffeehouses, community events, conferences, youth events, and college campuses. His style has been self-described as ""Anti-religious Gospel Music""; his lyrics are thoughtful and challenging, but grace-filled and humble. His hard-hitting lyrics are often born out of wrestling with his own frailties and weaknesses but are meant to serve as object lessons for all. ""It's not my intention to restate John 3:16 over and over again, that's been done plenty of times already. It's my hope that my music will comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
