It's not a combination one often hears, but clarinet and classical guitar is a marriage made in heaven. Dale Polissar is a magnificent clarinettist. His tone is as fluid and warm; his lines are melifluous and sinuous; his ideas are always fresh and alive. On this CD he plays twelve tunes, mostly but not exclusively standards; melodies chosen because -- well, because they're great melodies and they provide wonderful vehicles for Dale's musicality. Bart is Dale's accompanist here, providing perfectly supportive and inventive arrangements, plus the occasional tasty solo.
