CD Reviews

Modern Synthpop at Its Best!
Spencer | Ski Utah! | 07/18/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I purchased this album from A Different Drum (the label that houses Cosmicity) after seeing them perform live in concert. I have always been a synthpop fan and was just re-discovering this genre all over again in 1999 when Cosmicity came to town in support of synthpop veterans Alphaville. I was entertained by Mark's performance, both musically and comically (he is a funny guy, I particularly liked his rendition of "No Evil").This album is catchy and thoughtful. It is a great album to complement most any mood you may be in, from happy-go-lucky to melancholic, from depressed to madly in love. There are certainly favorites of mine, namely "Fate and Time", "Patience", "Too Far Gone", and "Arpeggiated Rain". As a whole I can listen to the whole album, but I tend to skip over "Orange" for some reason. I don't dislike it, I just don't like it as much as the rest.I don't own any other Cosmicity albums because whenever I go to my local independent record store they are always sold out. I highly recommend this work."
