"With all the success and fans,Jermaine Dupri's Lil' Bow Wow
and Master P's son Lil' Romeo have attained,it's made the R&B/
hip hop world know one thing:KIDS SELL.
3LW and Sammie also met with warm commerical/fan response
so that's opened the door for B2K,Lil' J,and this 13-year-old
lad,Corey.
Corey's debut single "Hush Lil' Lady"(a "hip" take on "Hush Lil'
Baby") like most kiddie-R&B ditties is irrestible and restible
at the same time.
What's irrestible about "Hush" is Corey's little,determined voice.Though nowhere near the young Micheal Jackson's,Corey's
does have a agile voice.When the bridge featuring an all-too-
cute rhyme by Lil' Romeo(a ploy by Motown-Corey's record label-
to put a proven kiddie hitmaker on an unknown youngster's tune
to give the teen auidence someone they're already familiar with)
comes on,you're tempted to just bounce.And at the end of the song,
with Lil' Reena and Lil' Romeo's little "Basketball Is My Favorite Sport" part,they got you hooked!
Now,what's restible about this song is how processed it is.
A cute little take of a kid's lullaby to a perky bass beat-
haven't we heard this before? And what's the difference between
Corey or Sammie(this song sounds a bit like his 2000 hit "I Like
It")? This song will score with kids,but will someone above-12
really like this song?
Overall,Corey's "Hush Little Lady" is like eating a big bag
of Sour Patch Kids.Very sugary but tasty."
