Synopsis

Album Description
Cordero is back with their second release on Daemon Records! Consider this Latin-infused indie rock band as what life would be like if The Pixies were from Puerto Rico. Fronted by the fierce and fiery Ani Cordero (#1 Family Mover), deftly driven by the drums of Chris Verene (Rock*A*Teens, DQE), tinged with F.A. Blasco's keys, colored by the guitar work of Lynn Wright (James Hall), held down by the low-end mastery of Jon Petrow, and featuring the hot horn section from The Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra; Somos Cordero at once takes hold of your inner dancing machine and sets your soul on fire. The band's Spanish/English bi-lingual playlist lends further to the unique sound of Somos Cordero, produced by Charlie Dos Santos (Sista Soulja, Marc Antony).

CD Reviews

¡Cordero es Impresionante!
Austindigo | Austin, Texas United States | 04/19/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Cordero's new release, "Somos Cordero", is impressive! I saw Cordero live, for the first time, in Austin on April 16th, 2004 when they opened for the Indigo Girls. After hearing them play live I bought the CD right then and there! It's hard to classify Cordero into a particular genre. Some of the songs make you want to jam (Had You Fallen Away), others dance (Soltera, Nacimiento, Emiliano y Jovita), and yet others (These Quiet Nights) are dreamy and introspective. Cordero somehow fuses Latin, Pop, Indi, and Rock in one package. I haven't taken "Somos Cordero" out of my CD player all weekend (except to transfer between home, car, and office). I would highly recommend getting out to see Cordero play live (wear your dancing shoes). If you can't do that, the next best thing is this CD. I look forward to obtaining their previous releases and anxiously await their future projects. A big thanks and congratulations to Daemon Records for signing this band."
