Synopsis
Album Details A Lisbon Trio Augmented as Needed by Additional Musicians and Guest Singers, Cool Hipnoise Are One of Portugal's Coolest, Hippest Bands. It was Droesemeyer who Produced the Band's Second Album, 1977's 'misspo Groove', that Yielded Two Solid Hits in 'ponto Sem Retorno' and 'groove Junkie' . |
CD ReviewsGreat Sound! Daniel Oliveira | Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal | 06/15/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "I listenned to this album only in 2003, but i truly understood its value. You can listen to a fusion of styles, like groove, funk, jazz, dub ... and watch some of their influencies, such as Herbie Hancok, Massive Attack (they do a cover of "One Ove"), United Future Organization, Dj Takamura, António Carlos Jobim, Miles Davis, Kruder and Dorfmeinster and so on. It's clear an evolution of their sound since "Nascer do Soul" (1st album, that was a little rap. The second cd contains some covers of Massive Attack, Xutos e Pontapés, Michael Jackson, António Carlos Jobim and some nice remixes. I feel the groove...in the air." Not bad...at all ! Rui Goncalves | Lisbon-Portugal | 11/04/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "A Lisbon trio with a variable formation (completed by additional musicians and guests singers), Cool Hipnoise are one of Portugal's coolest bands. Their effortless jazz-funk-soul stylings within a pop song framework is quite atractive and dancable. Droesemeyer produced the band's second album, born in 1997's (Missâo Groove). Try it ! Not bad...at all!"
