Superb English choral tradition

"This CD contains exquisite renderings of some relatively obscure Christmas and Advent music. Bethlehem Down and Three Kings are my favorites; the album notes provide fascinating information to go with the performances. Those familiar with Emily Poston's Jesus Christ the Apple Tree from the Cambridge Singers (Hail, Gladdening Light) will find this version less ethereal, but just as compelling. All in all, a super CD of excellent music for the season."
