CD Reviews

Best Chems single ever!

"This is simply the Chemical Brothers' finest single of all time among their many landmark releases. It is the only place you will find track 2, 'Prescription Beats', a monster of a track that will leave your body and nerves a mashed mess on the dance floor, maybe their hardest track to date, but still funked up like only the masters can do. Also on track 3 is the awesome funk fest that is 'Morning Lemon', featured on their mix brothers gonna work it out. 'Morning Lemon' is in my opinion their best b-side ever, easily being featured on an album if they chose to. Track 4 is a fun and memorable mix of block rockin by the Micronauts."
Classic Chemical Brothers

"I have to admit that "Block Rockin' Beats" used to be my least favorite song by The Chemical Brothers. I think it had to do with the hip hop influence that I heard in the song and was hoping for something similiar to "Setting Sun" (my personal favorite Chemical Brothers single). At least when it first came out on the music scene in 1997 I didn't care much for the song, but over the years the song slowly grew on me like a mushroom on a dead log. The lyrics and beats are a bit repetitive but then again the same could be said about The Crystal Method's first album "Vegas". I really dug the Micronauts remix of the song. This version reminded me of something I would hear on Daft Punk from their first album "Homework". "Prescrition Beats" and "Morning Lemon" are killer Chemical Brothers tracks but they can't compete with the micronauts version of "Block Rockin' Beats" to say the very least."
