CD Reviews

Astonishing

"This is a debut release? Charmaine Clamor has the vocal confidence and expressiveness of someone with 30 albums under her belt. What an astonishing debut. I'm already making a place in my collection for her next one.

Listen to her sing "Since I Fell for You" and you realize what they mean by "star quality." All I can say is wow!

A New Favorite

"Our local jazz radio show plays Charmaine frequently and I've fallen in love with her voice, which is very soulful and expressive. Everything she sings goes right to your heart. I think she is a remarkable artist. This CD highlights her way with a lyric. On a side note, the band members are very, very good and the arrangements are quite original. Over all a stunning debut."
Seductive

"I heard this young lady on the radio and I was seduced by her voice, which reminds me of a slightly less husky Diana Krall. Charmaine somehow can be very sensual in her singing without being vulgar. There's a lot of emotion in her voice. I believe her when she sings about love. Favorite tracks on "Searching for the Soul" are Charmaine's reworking of the Glady's Knight classic "Neither One of Us Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye" and the old standard "The Nearness of You," which puts Norah Jones to shame. Charmaine is a beautiful singer in many ways."
