CD Reviews

Too brief a collection of her biggest hits
Bradley Olson | Bemidji, MN United States | 03/15/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This compilation features only 10 of Charly McClain's biggest hits from her heyday including her 3 #1 hits: Who's Cheatin' Who, Radio Heart and Paradise Tonight (with Mickey Gilley), but it does have several of her other signature songs such as Sentimental Ol' You, Sleepin' With The Radio On, Dancing Your Memory Away, etc. Instead of searching for this collection, I recommend you to search for the "Anthology" 2 CD set on Renaissance which actually does have all of her charted singles on Epic including these 10 songs."
A Ten Year Anniversary You Will Never Forget
RADIO HEART | Paradise | 02/01/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"With Charly McClain's striking good looks, and her multi-talented and sometimes child like voice, this CD. "Ten Year Anniversary" is a good CD. for a first timer to Charly's music. It showcases 10 of Charly's charted songs. Three #1's "Paradise Tonight" a #1 duet with fellow musician/actor/night club owner of the worlds largest honky-tonk, Mickey Gilley. 1980's #1 record and song "Who's Cheatin' Who," and "Radio Heart," which Charly had to be talked into doing. Her husband Wayne Massey of ONTL fame, was the one that actually talked her into doing the #1 song. "Surround Me With Love," which was another good song and LP for Charly. In concerts Charly would always dedicate this song to her parents and sometimes her sister. "Sleepin' With The Radio On," another great pop-ish song as Charly herself once called it, off the 'Surround Me With Love' LP from 1981. The song "Sentimental Ol' You," to me, sounds every bit the country version that it is, with lots ot fiddle and twang. "With Just One Look In Your Eyes," a duet with her husband Wayne Massey. "That's What You Do To Me," "When A Love Ain't Right," "Dancin' Your Memory Away," All rounds out a fabulous Cd. A newcommer to Charly McClain's music, you will definately fall in love with Charly's voice. Or as a dedicated fan, you will bounce back down memory lane with Charly McClain.
