Great cd, nice DVD bonus

"Well, Casting Crowns put out a GREAT sophomore album. The music is uplifting and encouraging. For a few bucks more, you can pick up this DualDisc, which gives you access to two live songs (Praise You In This Storm and What If His People Prayed) as well as an Iworship version of "Lifesong" which was fun to watch. You also get a nice video about getting help with running a youth group, if that interests you.

I forgot to mention...the DVD side gives you every song in 5.1 surround sound, if you have a nice system setup. A VERY cool feature. No, it's not DVD AUDIO, it's DVD-Video sound. My DVD player supports DVD-AUDIO, but I'm not complaining, because otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the cool videos too.

I'm glad I got to see the live tracks on video... I couldn't help but shed a tear when I saw others doing it in the crowd, and I couldn't help but lift up my hands when the place was rocking!

Buy this. :-)"

Outstanding album

"It's a shame that artists who choose faith based lyrics hit a closed door on getting radio play on typical stations. More people should have the opportunity to get a taste of this talented group. If I had to categorize the style of music on this album, aside from it's Christian influence, I'd say probably Adult Contemporary. Although the vocals and energy on some tracks are very powerful. Conversely, the ballads have some beautiful melodies and piano work here. I can listen to Lifesongs all the way through without using my skip button, highly recommended listening."
