CD Reviews

Smooth Elegant Style Jazz

(5 out of 5 stars)

"The first time I heard Carmen Lundy, I was at a friends BBQ and on came the smooth silky track 'Love Me Forever', from then on I decided to listen to the whole album. I'm glad I did! I haven't looked back since. This is the 'BENCHMARK' for all Jazz singers.

If your into smooth cool rhythmic Jazz, then this is for you. This CD is a must have, go out and get it."
Genuine Jazz Diva

"Carmen Lundy's complex vocals are woven with elegance, passion and style. The opening cut Star Eyes with its upbeat tempo, Billy Childs on the piano, and Carmen's free-spirited vocal sets the style for treats to follow. Carmen's soulful voice on the ballad Just One More Chance is very fine. Carmen's smokey tones on You're Not In Love come from deep within her soul. Randy Brecker's flugelhorn solo adds the perfect touch. And to think Carmen wrote this one! Free and jazzy notes entwine through Carmen's vocal, Billy Child's piano, and Bob Mintzer's tenor sax on the marvelous I Didn't Know What Time It Was. The title song Old Devil Moon will move you with its upbeat Latin tempo backing up Carmen's free swinging vocal. In A Sentimental Mood will take you deep into the smouldering tones of Carmen's voice. This one is as smooth as silk. The finale Love Me Forever, written by Carmen, is not only a great vocal but has a stunning musical arrangement.

Carmen Lundy is THE genuine jazz diva. Once you play this cd, you'll be hooked. And the more you play it, the deeper you will feel her soul. You can find more about Carmen on You Tube and her website."
