Synopsis

Album Description
This compact disc makes available again the music of our early long-playing records. These were well received and letters to us described our sound as up-beat, energetic, earthy, positive, engaging and happy. This is traditional New England square and contra dance music--74 minutes of one of the best bands of the 70's, back by popular demand. Single speed mastering by Oasis for a great sound that will get you moving.

CD Reviews

Happiness Put to Music
Catherine Page | Seattle, WA United States | 12/17/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"When I was a little girl, my Father's love song to me was "Farewell to Whiskey." He used to dance around the house to it with me on his shoulders, squeeling with delight. I have never forgotten the song, and the family has listened to the album often over 30 years - and we never get sick of it. So I put on the album and decided to try to look and see what I might find on Amazon - and here it is. I have bought one, but it's likely I'll return to buy 10 more for the family in the very least. I have done contra-dancing while in college, and it is one of the most fun types of dancing ever. If we spent more nights contra-dancing, we wouldn't have such a problem with obesity. So what about the music? This is simply music to fall in love with, that anyone in any place would listen to and begin to tap their feet to, dance around a bit, and find their mood lighter. In particular for any romantic who pines for the old dances of dances with girls with pink ribbons and boys looking to dance and a fiddler calling out the steps, this is the album for you. The Orchastra is literally one of the best groups. You might feel whisked off to Ireland or to days of old, and if that is a good thing you should buy this album. The music is happy, and it'll make you happy as well no matter what mood you are in."
