Bit of Bonzo on the Tongue

"The four tracks here also appear on "The Complete BBC Recordings" (2002) which if you're a big Bonzo Dog fan (and who isn't) is the one to get obviously. Since both of these come from Strange Fruit Recording Company one wonders why this EP was released at all. Well it's dated 1987 so maybe it took five years to uncover the remaining tapes, or the market had to be proven, or licensing difficulties delayed the complete set, who the devil knows?
If you're new to the Bonzos this probably isn't the place to start -- not their best moment. Not awful but you wouldn't be as amazed as you ought to be either.
On the other hand if you're a devoted Bonzo fan you'll probably want the entire BBC set, which is well worthwhile and contains some top notch bits. Better than what's here, that's for sure.
So this little EP would be of interest to only two classes of listener: violently rabid BDB fans who simply must have everything with the Bonzo name on it whether they have it already or not (you know who you are), and tepidly-curious non-fans who only want a tiny inexpensive taste of the Bonzos and don't particularly care if they like it or not."
