"Bobby Shew is teaming up with the ensembles of Lawrence university. There is one set of Big Band, one set of Concert Band, one set of Trumpet Enseble, one set of Symphony Orchestra and finally one set where Bobby is playing duo with composer/pianoplayer John Harmon. John Harmon's compositions are very melodic and innovative and suits Bobby's playing perfectly. The student musicians play wonderfully and you can't tell they are professionals or not. I specially like the Big Band and the Symphony Orchestra. As far as Bobby is concerned, this man never cease to amaze me. He has proven to be one of the absolute top players in jazz, but here he also shows that he's capable of playing legit trumpet. In the trumpet concerto he really captures the style and his warm and round trumpet sound is reminiscent of any of the greatest classical trumpeters of today. This is one of Bobby's strongest abilities, no matter what the playing situation is he adapt so well into the music. The music on this double cd is absolutely beautiful and if you dig jazz or classical music it doesn't matter. It works in all situations. A MUST HAVE!"
