Scobey Really Swings

"I appreciated Bob Scobey when I was in high school and saw him live, when I was at Northwestern and invited him to my Jazz Society. This CD, previously unheard, represents Bob at his best, with solid arrangements and excellent rhythm section. The only criticism I have is that when Clancy Hayes solos, he is often upstaged by the clarinet as compared with the same tunes done in later recordings. Bob is strong and probably better than I remember him."
