CD Reviews

Tremendous music, below average recording
T. McGee | San Diego, CA United States | 02/28/2002
(4 out of 5 stars)

"For any Kenny Burrell fan, you should definitely own this cd. The music is awesome, definitely worth 5 stars if not more. It received a great review in the Penguin guide to Jazz. The recording however, is well below average. Too much hiss. Very distracting on a good home system. You can't beat it though for listening in the car, or at a party. This disc is available as an import; however at a much steeper price. If I knew the sound was what it should be, I would definitely buy it"
Can't go wrong.
Gerald Dalton | Chicago, Illinois | 09/03/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"With Kenny Burrell on guitar and Coleman Hawkins on tenor sax, you cannot go wrong with this disc. From the funky to the easy swinging this is an excellent collaboration. They performed some standards and some of their own compositions, and there is not a weak one in the bunch. Hawkins does not play on all tracks, which is to be regretted. Otherwise, a fine CD. As always Tommy Flannagan on piano only adds to the high quality."
Kenny burrell, does not dissapoint

"His music is pretty, bluesy, driving.it's just swings. If your looking for

something solid, listen to Kenny Burrell."
