Synopsis

Album Description
Although they were born in the Maghreb, most Arab-Jewish singers reside in France. The most unorthodox Mahgreb Jewish singer, Blond-Blond was intoxicated by music at a young age. After performing alongside Cheikh Zouzou, he went to Paris to take part in radio shows, singing Chevalier, Trenet, and Valderrama. In 1939 he went back to Oran, and in 1943 he was the star attraction at La Pergola, where he enjoyed huge success. By 1950 he was performing at El Djezir, the Parisian cabaret attended by such celebrities as Oum Kalsoum, Tony Curtis, Marlon Brando, Frank Capra, and Esther Williams.
