Synopsis

Product Description
Produced by the incredible Colin Linden, it features fourteen songs penned by three of Canada s finest songwriters Stephen Fearing, Colin Linden and Tom Wilson with some outstanding collaborations. Lending impeccable support on the sessions are long time collaborators Richard Bell (keyboards) John Dymond (bass) and Gary Craig (drums). Special guests include Garth Hudson (The Band) Pam Tillis, Malcolm Burn, Wayne Jackson (The Memphis Horns), Daniel Lanois and John Whynot. Long time friend and fan Daniel Lanois wrote a beautiful track entitled House of Soul with the stipulation that they had to make him cry in order to have it. He loved it and it is track number two. Twenty-nine songs were tracked at the legendary Bearsville Studio in Woodstock, New York and BARK were the last band to record at this famous location before they closed the doors. These twenty-nine songs reflect the wide-ranging musical influences that Stephen, Colin and Tom bring to BARK as successful solo artists.

CD Reviews

The Best Band that you've never heard of!
Kathryn S. Smith | Central NJ, USA | 01/09/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This group is SO good! Their music has a variety of the usual influences: rock, country, and folk. Their songwriting is excellent; they have great harmonies, intelligent lyrics, good voices (all take turns with lead and harmony vocals,) and all three members make excellent contributions to the group. Basically, in their native Canada, this is a supergroup! All three of these guys have great solo careers, but still make time to record with the band, too.

I know that since this CD is an import, you can't listen to clips of this on Amazon. However, you should be able to listen to clips of their CDs "Bark" and "Kings of Love" here. ("BARK" is an excellent introduction and "Kings of Love" is another great one,) but you may just have to take my word on them.

If you like John Hiatt, Neil Young, and Willie Nelson then you will FALL IN LOVE with this album!!!!"
