A loud but melodic record that still holds its own

"Turn up the amps to eleven because this is LOUD intellectual punk rock for graduate students. Like other bands of the late 80s/early 90s (Slint comes to mind), Bitch Magnet masters the art of building music up to a quiet crescendo and then releasing an all-out assault on your ears. But it's not screaming and heavy metal guitars. Instead, Bitch Magnet backs themselves up with solid melodies and fierce energy. Seam was formed later on by some members of Bitch Magnet."

"This was an incredible group! I saw them live at l'Usine in Geneva in the early 90's (late 80's???)and they really blew me away. It is very very intense alternative rock that is at times very very loud and angry and at times very peaceful. Incredible. We thought they were going to be big."
