"The simple beauty of this atmospheric record of jazz is impossible to put into words.
The Bill Wells Trio understand how to use space in music, which I believe to be a priceless intuition. The repetitive, hypnotic trumpet is quietly beautiful. The piano is percussive and emotive. The melodies are gentle and haunting. And accessible from the first listen.
The importance of the use of space and simplicity in order to create an affecting piece of music is illustrated perfectly here.
This record is peaceful, yet jazzy. I put it on before I go to bed yet it gives me energy because there is such a tangible quiet joy here. If you are lucky enough to source a copy of this album, buy it. Dont hesitate."
