CD Reviews

Buy it, a'ready!

"I put this album into the CD player with a certain amount of trepidation. The last Mumy solo album ("Dying To Be Heard")was terrific, yet my sadistic cynical side was poised to cackle as my adoration went down in flames. About one-quarter of the way through "Lost In Babylon", I stopped concentrating on what I was doing, put my feet up, and just let the album play out. Some music just needs to be listened to without distraction. This is excellent work; I'd give it more stars if I could. There is an inclination towards the blues this time around, but enough fast-paced tracks are included to keep things lively. The songs themselves are varied as the rhythms: "Lost In Babylon" is quick and upbeat, leading into a cuationary and somewhat heavier "Angel's Observations." I'd advise anyone with a sentimental bone in your body-- even if you won't admit it-- to skip "Stronger Than Gravity" and "I Needed To Let You Know"; depending on your mood, you'll either wind up with a lump in your throat or in severe need of a hanky. A big one. In short, buy the album. It's worth the money."

"This is a straight forward album of contemplative music (mostly ballads) by actor Bill Mumy. Bill plays every instrument and sings all the notes. Very professionally done, and a good listen, if you're in the right frame of mind. And he's a heck of a nice guy, too!"
Totally Lost in Babylon!

"If you appreciate a great voice and a deft hand at guitar, then you truly need to get your hands on this album! Bill's varied acting, writing and musical experiences are perfectly interwoven throughout this CD (as well as his future release, Pandora's Box). Don't expect hokey Sci-fi meandering, but be prepared to be intellectually and creatively stimulated!"
