Classic, best post Cash Money Album
Dorrie Wheeler | 06/10/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"B.G.'s Heart of Da Streetz is a modern classic. B.G. is at his best on this 17 track album. Heart of Da Streetz was released by Chopper City Records/Koch Records this past May. B.G. had many hits and participated in many hit songs while he was affiliated with Cash Money Records. His biggest hit at Cash Money, "Bling-Bling," changed the vocabulary of millions.

Bottom line, this album is a classic. Although no longer with Cash Money, production wise, it still has that flavah that a lot of the early Cash Money records had. It's right up there with Juvenile's 400 Degreez. The first single, "Where Da At," has a hypnotic track. The album version is slightly different than the one currently on radio, both songs are hot but I prefer the album version.

B.G. is very personal and reflective on this album. He shares with his listeners that he has left drugs alone because it was hindering his talent. He also still has animosity about his situation at Cash Money. On the banging song "U See Why," he laments about how he feels frustrated at times but through faith God tells him he is going to give him everything he gave Cash Money and more. B.G. also expresses that his love for his son helps to keep him out of trouble. "U See Why," is a real chill song you can ride to.

Another stand out song on the album is "Do That S%&#." "Fool With It" is another banger. B.G. stuck with family on this album and worked with his Chopper City artists. His little brother Hakizzle is a guest artist on the song "Oh No."

Lyric wise this album is hot. Production wise this album is hot.

"Yo, BG came even harder on this album. Life After CashMoney was straigh heat and he had a lot to get off his chest. Now with his new album BG is better than ever and reppin VL Chopper City all day. This album is real street and nothin less. Im from da Chi and i still bump BG all the way up here. BG is spittin for all the real G's and niggas in the struggle. BG raps from his heart all the time and thats why he is the Heart of Tha Streetz."

"This album is a classic without a doubt. I'm giving it 5 Starz b/c it's his best album yet. Although all of his albums are good, but this one is harder. Where Da At is just a monster banger. The whole CD is raw, but that's my banger for right now. Now alot of people thought he couldn't do it without Cash Money Records. For all yall that thought it wasn't possible....this is his 3rd drop since he left cash money, and his 2nd drop in 10 months. The production is on this album is RAW, I mean who needs a Mannie Fresh beat when the production is this good. Leaving Cash Money was BG's best move. BG doing it big w/o Baby in his pockets. Buy the album, you will not be disappointed. (BG - The Heart of Tha Streetz = 5 STARZ)
