"This CD reminds me a little bit of the Lisa Stansfield/Basia phase I had a few years back. Beverley Craven has a really clear and pretty voice, the tunes are mostly laid back and pop-py. If you like Basia, Lisa Stansfield (slower paced), or Dido, you might enjoy this CD for something that's not played constantly on the radio."

A real gem

"This is a true gem of an album. Dates back to 1990, but hasn't got a wrinkle.

This album is often classified as easy listening. It sure is.

But discribing it only as such would be giving a very poor account of its qualities. I would rather classify it as 'compelling listening'.

This was the first Beverley Craven album, yet it doesn't sound a bit like a first, and even less does it sound like a twenty years old CD. Beverley's voice is absolutely wonderful, the music is fabulous, the arrangements close to perfection. The melodies will stay in your head, and the result as a whole makes for great listening indeed.

Over the years, I've actually bought several copies of Beverley Craven's three albums. I've found that the three of them make for an absolutely great present. I've yet to find a recipient who didn't like them. Actually, even years later, most still attest that this is a gift that they remember and care for, and that they keep cherishing these albums as among the best they own, just as I do.
