The Best since Mahalia

"I thought Iwould never hear a voice like Mahalia Jackson's. Joshua Nelson not only sounds exactly like Mahalia, he even has the same breathing techniques. On songs like Elijah Rock, Didn't it rain he brings the house down. I've havent heard anyone sing "In the upper room" quite like this. This album is strict traditional. The organ, piano and even the drums are played like they were in the old days. Joshua seems to be a very young man, but Lord have mercy.Once as a little boy I asked the Lord to let me hear Mahalia once more......well..... he answered my prayers. You gots to get this one."

"I'm so glad that a CD has finally been released- to showcase Brother Joshua Nelson. He really proves that Mahalia Jackson is an influence in his life. Even though there are some similarities between voices and techniques, Mahalia and Joshua sound TOTALLY different. In the song, "This Is My Faith," it kind of gives a 'romantic' side of Gospel. "Elijah Rock" and "Didn't It Rain" are the 2 'shout' songs on this CD. I'm listening to it right now, and I feel like I'm gonna cut a step right now- HEY HEY! GLORY!Emmit Powell's CD is also very nice. For some reason, to me it has a different type of sound. I'm love- and I'm used to the 'hoopin and hollerin' Gospel, but over all, Emmit's is kind of cool and relaxing. I would recommend this CD to all Gospel Fans."
