Get It While You Can

"This recording is flat out absolutely superb.
The sound is extremely close up. Every detail can be heard clearly. And yet, there is not a touch of glaze. The sound is sweet and mellow, consistent with the tube technology used in early stereo recordings.
Not just lovely sound, but superb orchestral playing as well. And the singing, both by the soloists and choir are superior to what is heard on the Munch or Davis recordings. The Davis by the way is currently listed on Amazon for more $100. And the Davis comes with just the Romeo, while the Monteaux comes with an excellent performance of the Symphonie Fantastique as an added bonus.
Used copies of this recording are already listed on Amazon for $60+. This might give you an idea of what the prices will be when the new copies are sold out. Even if the current prices of used CD's go the way of the Dutch tulip craze, the worst that can happen is you get "stuck" with a great sounding, well performed CD of one of the most gorgeously romantic musical works ever penned."
