Synopsis

Product Description
The latest addition to the genre of Aggressive World-Beat Jazz, Before the Rain brings an eclectic cross-section of music from the world and beyond! "Tramps and Mystic Revolutionaries" offers songs that span that span the gamut from blues and rock to acid jazz and world music. The CD features Tyson Bennett on keyboards, Dick O'Connell on guitars, guitar synthesizer and looping, Dugg Spalding on drums and world percussion, and Richard Ball on flutes, world flutes, saxophone, bass and other world instruments. This CD features special guests Gus Chambers on bass and Ken Jones on didgeridoo. Over three years in the making, "Tramps and Mystic Revolutionaries" is dedicated to revolutionaries who have changed our perspective of the world, such as The Dalai Lama, Ché Guevara, Ahmed Shah Masoud and others. The art work features a collage of 40 of these people we consider to be inportant influences on the lives we lead. A fitting follow-up to the last album, "Hitchin' to Santa Fe," "Tramps and Mystic Revolutionaries" is more probing and diverse, as well as more meticulously recorded. The new compositions explore new ground, pushing jazz and acid jazz further, especially with the introduction of many world-instruments and rhythms. The "Tramps and Mystic Revolutionaries" page on this site gives on-line liner notes and descriptions of the revolutionaries honored on this album.
