Scratchy sound, but great playing

"Although the sound is a bit scratchy, and it is easy to tell when 78's were changed, this is probably the most exciting recording of the Beethoven concerto available. All of the intensity of live performance. The long first movement seems to be over in 2 minutes because of the way Kulenkampff grabs your attention, and the finally is full of trills and sparkles."
