CD ReviewsFinest version of the Beethoven Concerto J. Luis Juarez Echenique | Mexico City | 05/04/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Arthur Grumiaux was the most musical and elegant of violinists. Others, like Heifetz, may have been greater virtuosos, but none surpassed Grumiaux in sheer musicianship. Of his 3 recordings of the Beethoven Concerto, my favourite is the 1967 version with Alceo Galliera conducting, a warmer more beautiful recording of this music does not exist, though the 1976 recording with Colin Davis is almost as good. If you have never heard these recordings, I urge you to try them."
