CD Reviews

Great Album!

"This is one of Battlelore's best records. It is as good, if not better, than Sword's Song. They have made a lot of progress in the last few years and this album proves it. The balance between male and female vocals is perfect. This is a must own for any fan of metal/lotr."
Very Well Done

"I once saw a CD by them in the store and was going to come back to it but forgot their name. I liked that they had two women in the band. It wasn't until about a year later that I found them again because this album had a photo on the back so I could see there were the two women. Aha! This was that band with the two females in it!

I researched and discovered a little of their history. I'd read that they were into Lord Of The Rings but that is not what attracted me to them. It was the fact that they had a male and female singer fronting the band (the other female plays keyboards). I've been intrigued with this vocal form since hearing Goat Of Mendes.

There is no question the music is great. The contrasting vocals from the mid-pitch female clean voice to the harsh male voice provide enough variety to keep things interesting. I could not understand a thing they were singing about, but the lyrics are in the CD case so eventually I might look at them. Without the lyric sheet, I'd have no clue that they are singing about LOTR, but then again, I don't listen to lyrics much anyway.

The point is that this is great music, well played and well sung. If you like epic metal with male/female vocals and a fantasy theme, you can't go wrong with this band. Highly recommended.
