A Must Buy for anyone who loves Jazz

"Although Buddy Rich and Woody Hermans bands were phenominal there was still always that escence of it being "just studio recordings" but with this album everyone just lets loose. Live from the Bandstand it's an unforgetable dual that will leave you listening to this disc for days non stop. The amazing sound of these two bands is brought out with the energy of a live show. Both bands playing until their chops are shot....and continuing to suck it up and play more still without cracking a note or dropping a beat. This C.D. truly brings out the sound of two big bands that anyone will love to listen to even if they aren't the biggest of Jazz listeners. Buddy Rich's Band plays a 1 time performance of the song "Dancing Men". A very unique Funk/Rock style song that lets the horns go nuts, while on the other hand Woody Herman asks his band if they would kindly play a new song for the first time in front of THE AUDIENCE! They sight read and wail to the old tune "The Brotherhood of Man". The trumpet solo is amazing with so much half valve work and sluring you'd swear the horn was singing. I promise to you that if you even remotely like jazz this Album will be one of your favorites within the forst 4 songs! I also encourace you to look around for other works by Buddy Rich and by Woody Herman. These were two of the greatest bands to grace the Big Band Scene. You will not be dissapointed by what you hear."
