Purest punk statement ever put to record

"Bastro were short-lived and unknown, but this CD is THE best example of punk I've ever seen. The lyrics are extremely obtuse, the music is hard and pummeling, and the songs have VERY strange titles ("Flesh-Colored House"???. This is a unique amalgamation of post-rock ideals with hardcore music; the members later went on to Gastr Del Sol and Tortoise. If you wanna see where post-rock started, this should be your first choice. However, if you want hardcore intensity with literate lyrics a la Slint, this is also a grand starting point."
