Lets be Fair!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"In all honesty I have only listened to the sample recordings from this CD. The reason that I had to listen to them was because I wanted to hear what a one star recording sounded like. It was hard to imagine that some middle school orchestra had received a recording contract! With all due respect (none)to Mr. or Ms. Chang, while a typo may in fact be a VERY serious mistake, it was not made by the conductor OR the musicians on this CD. In the samples that I heard, this sounds like a very nice recording of some of Bachs most popular works. At a bargain price like this what a great way to familiarize yourself with some music that has become justly famous. It is possible that this recording warrants only a three or four star rating but my five stars should help somewhat negate the injustice done by Chang. Write reviews based on the music NOT the type setter or the cover art!"
Truly Beautiful

"This is one of the loveliest recordings of the Brandenburg Concertos I have ever had the privilege of listening to. The music is always amazing, but Bohdan Warchal, the conductor, gets the tempo just right, and you can feel the passion of the Slovak Chamber Orchestera. It's subtle, but not overly so - the melodies are brought out strongly, but with a touching sensitivity.

Brandenburg Concertos 4, 5 and 6 are often overlooked in terms of critical acclaim (and certainly popular appeal) in favour of the first three concertos, but this CD proves beyond all doubt that these concerti are worthwhile in their own right.

I urge you to buy this CD if you have any love of Bach or the classical music genre."
