"I've been a fan of Aurora Borealis for a long time. I first heard of them through the tribute cds on Dwell Records. I then contacted Ron to tell to him how awesome those were. He suggested i buy the Northern Lights cd, so i bought it from him, and he even signed it. I still talk to him frequently, and he is an awesome nice person. Now to the cd...This cd is pure death/black metal mayhem. The blast beats and double bass from Derik Roddy is the some of the best ever. Ron Vento's guitar riffs and solos are insane. Totally original and awesome. If you are interested in death metal that lyrically explores fantasy, you should look into this. A great death/black metal album none the less."

"Aurora Borealis's devestating mix of black metal vocals and death metal riffs make for one of the mort brutal American metal albums of all time. With vocals and music that would break Marduk's spine 'Northern Lights' is a true masterpiece in a genre that has been going downhill for as long as I can remember. With Ron Vento's amazing voice and guitars, the whole album is filled with gutteral screetches from one of the best in modern black metal and Derek Roddy - ex-Nile and Hate Eternal. So basically, Aurora Borealis is a two man black metal machine that has taken the genre by storm it their few years in existence. I must start with my favorite song on the album, "Enter the Halls". With its catchy chorus and ferocious riffs it is black metal perfection. "War of the Rings" and "Aggressive Dynasty" are two insanely fast songs that show true as death / black metal in its purest form. This is a definite recomendation to anyone who is willing to listen to some amazing new American metal from this amazing band."
